AUTHENTIC ROSÉ WITH PROVENCAL SPICE

AUTHENTIC ROSÉ WITH PROVENCAL SPICE

The famous painter Cézanne already understood that Mont Sainte-Victoire was a very special place. Since 2006, the foot of this mountain in Puyloubier in the heart of Provence has been the perfect terroir for the wine estate of Guillaume and Virginie Philip, better known as Domaine des Diables and especially as MiP - Made in Provence. The immensely popular MiP Rosé Classic rightly lives up to its name as a classic and every year it sells out before it even hits the market! And because spring is very gently making its appearance and the MiP Rosé vintage 2019 is once again promising, we would like to pay a little more attention to the special winery behind this wine. Domaine des Diables is a young and dynamic family business known as the best wine company in the region. Not surprisingly, as Guillaume and Virginie have a philosophy all their own, which focuses on innovation and continuous quality improvement. This has now earned them a gold medal and the Prix d'Excellence at the prestigious Concours Générale Agricole, the Golden Palm for winemakers, for nine years in a row. A unique achievement, indicating how much they stand out from their fellow winemakers in the region. The reviews in France's leading wine guide Guide Hachette are also laudatory year in, year out and the wines are regularly among the Editor's Choice. Clearly, Domaine des Diables sets an example for other wineries in Provence.

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT
Guillaume and Virginie met at Montpellier University, where they were both studying viticulture. It was love at first sight and that love is still reflected in the wines. Virginie comes from a family of winemakers and the couple initially worked in her father's winery. There, they created their Made in Provence concept, or MiP. When they continued independently, it was initially from the garage under their house. Only later did they buy the beautiful estate at the foot of Mont Sainte-Victoire.
