Being sentenced to probation. It's less punishment than jail, but you still have to keep quiet, listen nicely, don't make mistakes... We don't bother and sit it out patiently.
Probation: Tale of Light with Moët & Chandon
We get a postal invitation to the launch of the Moët Grand Vintage 2015, a unique and special champagne as the successor to the 2013. We expect a postcard, but receive a flashy video message in the mailbox. Yes, we immediately fancy it! Dressed in 'black chic', we report to GREEN Gastrobar on a rainy Monday evening. You don't just walk into this restaurant, but through the exclusive Molteni&C Flagship Store. The lift there has just one button that whizzes you up to the 26th floor.
Theory
Everything tonight revolves around Moët & Chandon's Grand Vintage line, but what is it champagne is a blend of wines from different vintage years. Blending gives you a typical house style, a champagne that always tastes the same. Sometimes, however, there is an exceptionally good year, one in which the cellar master may decide to make a champagne with grapes from one specific vintage. That's a vintage champagne.
