Where is that bird going?

We were reminded of the hilarious scene of Mr Bean filling a Christmas turkey... with his head. But this bird is a decanter carafe, so you fill it with wine. Handmade by Venetian glass artist Simone Crestani, with matching wine glasses on bird's feet. Simone draws inspiration from 18th-century still lifes on which objects have a double meaning. So ancient aesthetics, but of course this is a complete novelty in the glass art world!

Winter wonderland

Whenever we get the winter blues, we always go for a browse at Pip Studio. This online homeware shop received the Shopping Award 2021. At this dark blue tablecloth, we dream away to a richly filled forest with beautiful leaves, branches, flowers and animals. Pip, by the way, is the alter ego of Anke van der Endt (Design Academy, 1996 intake) who sets the bar high and uses the best materials.

Glass of you, glass of me

These markers stick to your glass like a suction cup. This way, everyone at a party or dinner can clearly see where not to nip in. Each stamp refers to a bunch of grapes of a particular variety, so choose your favourite.
