Breathtaking views

We came across this lovely plot for sale totalling 18 hectares, with fantastic views over a valley of vineyards. It is 50 kilometres from the wine city of Bordeaux, in the foothills of the Saint-Émilion hills and on the same clay-limestone plateau where those beautiful, mineral wines come from. A unique geographical location about which we will tell you more later. - TEXT + IMAGE EDITORS

Sustainable vineyard

If you come to live here, you will become the owner of 11.96 hectares of vineyard in AOC Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux. The vineyard is composed of the grape varieties famous for this region: merlot (90 per cent), cabernet sauvignon (7 per cent) and cabernet franc (3 per cent). Planting density is 5,000 to 6,600 vines per hectare. The vineyard is well maintained and has the HVE3 label for sustainable agriculture. This includes responsible use of fertilisers and chemical pesticides (see box). There is an extra 3 hectares of land within the appellation, which can be planted with vines. Or use it as pasture for the horses that roam here! There are also 2 hectares of forest and a large pond - of 3,500 square metres. So here you are surrounded by nature in all its beauty.

Dwelling house with swimming pool

The house overlooks the hilly vineyard. It was restored in 2004 and has been well maintained. The living area is 330 square metres. So what will you find in this comfortable home? Five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a living room with fireplace, a very bright second room, an office and a laundry room.
