Tenute Cecchi's red Tuscany

Villa Cerna in Castellina in Chianti and Val delle Rose in Maremma, are two of Tenute Cecchi's five estates. Highly prestigious and historic wineries in Tuscany. Intuition and a close relationship with the main sangiovese areas, have over the years led to the improvement of the different terroirs. Made possible in part by environmental awareness and respect for the rhythms of the vineyard. Integrated farming, proper processes - carried out vineyard by vineyard - and attention to work in the cellar. Bring the identity of the wines fully to the fore.

Pure expression

Villa Cerna's home base, Castellina in Chianti, is one of 11 UGAs (Unità Geografiche Aggiuntive). Which were recently identified by the Consorzio and will soon be included on the Gran Selezione labels. The first estate bought by Cecchi in the 1960s comprises a historic 10th-century building perched on top of the hill and surrounded by 80 hectares of vineyards. Careful mass selection and cultivation of numerous sangiovese clones on plots of varying altitudes. Location and soil composition have produced harmonious Chianti Classico wines. Villa Cerna Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG comes from vines growing on medium-textured soils and is characterised by a fresh and floral nose. With a good balance between acidity, alcohol content and tannins, making for a structured and long-lived wine.
