That sounds so good

Carla Lalli Music, what a wonderful name that is. This talented Italian-American cooks to the stars in the United States. Her second cookbook has now been translated, except for the title, because it already sounds good. Her recipes also sound like music to our ears, as they are easy to make with a glass of wine in hand. - TEXT RECIPES: CARLA LALLI MUSIC | IMAGE RECIPES: ANDREA GENTL AND MARTIN HYERS

That sounds so good

Whatever works', that is Carla's motto. And soon yours too, as we share three of her easy recipes with ingredients that do not require you to go to different shops. Each recipe also comes with tips for alternatives, because of course it is irritating if you cannot make a dish because one ingredient is missing.

Her latest cookbook features 100 recipes for every day of the week. At the front, she writes: 'For Uncle Renato, who loved food, family and red wine.' Then you can be sure you are dealing with Italian blood. Carla herself says: 'I grew up in a close-knit Italian-American family; the rhythm of our lives was determined by the meal on the table. If we ate spaghetti with venus clams, it was Friday - that was a regular thing since I was a teenager. In summer, we ate grilled pizza on weekends. Pasta e fagiole was something for Sundays. We still eat marble cake with fudge icing when it's someone's birthday, and when we meet up with the whole family we immediately start talking about the menu. We app and e-mail endlessly; usually my father, Frank, starts by asking, "But what are we eating? A thousand messages later, someone suggests the right menu, which my father confirms with: 'Ooooooo, that sounds so good!''
