Domaine des Diables is different

Domaine des Diables is unlike anything else. The name is recalcitrant - diables means devils - and the labels are hip, but above all the quality of relatively young winemakers Guillaume and Virginie Philip stands out among other names from Provence. 'On Provence's wine route, Sainte-Victoire is the place to be', says Guillaume amused. 5 questions to...

1.Nice to meet you live! Did you expect your wine to become so popular?

'That's really incredible. Making wine accessible to a younger audience was our intention, though. From the USA to Brazil, from the Czech Republic to Japan; our rosé is drunk everywhere. Here in the Netherlands, fortunately, but we are also popular in France itself. Our wines have won awards at numerous competitions, but our best reward is your satisfaction.'

2.Can we taste all four rosés side by side?

'They are all very different wines. And we also have white and red, lol! I pour the MiP Classic Rosé first, which we make from 60 per cent cinsault with syrah and grenache. The second is a different blend, with vermentino. What else is in it? The MiP Collection Rosé has 60 per cent syrah, 30 per cent grenache and so vermentino - which we call rolle with us.'

3.What else makes your Classic and Collection wines different?

'The MiP Classic comes from younger vines and the MiP Collection comes from older vines.
