Creative with cocktail

How fond we also used to be of the VPRO programme Drink time (1996), the sequel to Creative with Cork And a parody of the RTL 4 programme Coffee Time - watch back on YouTube! In this hopelessly humorous programme by Arjan Ederveen and Tosca Niterink, a recurring topic was making the evening's mixed drink ('En Ellen, what can I pour you?). Inspired by this, we chose the Bloody Mary from Ramon's collection. - RECIPE AND RECIPE TEXT: RAMON BRUGMAN | PHOTOGRAPHY: MITCHELL VAN VOORBERGEN | INTRODUCTION TEXT AND WINE TIPS: MARJOLEIN SCHUMAN

Creative with cocktail

A cocktail with a horror story attached about the appearance of the ghost of Mary, who died in a terrible way. Secretly, of course, we added some spirits to it anyway. The chips, which by the way you can also fry in the deep fryer, taste delicious with it. The French rillette and Japanese sushi roll take a bit more time to make, especially if you also prepare the wasabi mayonnaise yourself and cook the sushi rice, with a vinegar mixture of rice vinegar in which sugar and salt are dissolved. The recipes for these are also in the book "De Borrelbijbel" by Ramon Brugman.

Virgin Bloody Mary with celery

This cocktail is a summertime hit, which is deliciously fresh and special thanks to the celery stalk. In fact, the Virgin Bloody Mary is a snack and drink in one, which is fresh because of the lemon, spicy because of the tabasco and savoury because of the worcestershire sauce.

This is what you need (10 shot glasses)

Preparation 10 minutes

  • 350 ml tomato juice
  • crushed ice
  • 5 drops of Tabasco
  • 6 drops of Worcestershire sauce
  • juice of half a lemon
  • 1 stalk of celery

This is how you make it

Pour the tomato juice into a jug containing a layer of crushed ice. Add the tabasco, Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice and stir well.
Pour the Virgin Bloody Mary into the shot glasses. Cut the celery into thin stalks and insert a stalk into each glass.
