Flying along with Kaiken

Kaiken is one of the leading wine companies in Mendoza. Operating since 2001 and always pushing boundaries. Not only with new wine styles, but also by planting vineyards in other places in Argentina. Winelife travelled with them.

You wake up and open your window. You breathe in the fresh mountain air. In the distance, you see the mountains. In beautiful colours that keep changing, with the beautiful, snow-capped peaks in winter. The sun is shining. Always. Below you, in the vineyard, you see a hare scurry away, and what is that strange bird walking further on? Is that a nandu? Or the Patagonian goose after all?

Travelling with kaiken

Mendoza, city and wine region at the foot of the Andes. Chances are that most of the Argentine wine you drank in your life came from there. Kaiken has been operating there since 2001 and is always innovating. Hence, for the expansion of wine styles and grape varieties, they also see and exploit opportunities in other parts of the vast Argentine mainland. WINELIFE interviewed export manager Julieta Piccolella, who was in the Netherlands, and travelled (in her mind) with her from Mendoza to Patagonia and back.
