La famiglia Martellozzo by Bellussi

Consumption of prosecco has experienced stormy growth in the last decade. Dutch consumers have also fallen like a log for the affordable bubble. Yet prosecco has been available here for much longer. From the very beginning, just under 30 years ago, Bellussi's proseccos have been on Dutch shelves. Time to meet the opera- and art-loving Martellozzo family. Founders and owners of Bellussi. Enrico, Giovanni and Francesca Martellozzo are a family with taste. - TEXT CHARLOTTE VAN ZUMMEREN

La famiglia Martellozzo by Bellussi

The Veneto wine region in north-eastern Italy is one of Italy's most productive wine regions. Amarone, Ripasso, Soave and Lugana also come from here. The Alps and the mild and sunny Mediterranean climate make for beautiful wines as well as proseccos. The family, or la famiglia Martelozzo by Bellussi specialises in proseccos and other sparkling wines. The heart of the company beats in Valdobbiadene in Veneto, in the DOCG area. And father, son and daughter Martellozzo work in the company.... The name Bellussi is derived from the pruning method bellussare that goes with prosecco. Above all, take a look at Bellussi's website. The number of sparkling wines they make here can hardly be enumerated. It should be added that Bellussi is dedicated to producing high-quality proseccos. Which nevertheless don't hurt anyone's wallet. Bellussi's proseccos cost around €10 in the Netherlands.
