Some of the Ceci clan discuss their Verdicchio in the cellar. This fresh white wine is made in the Italian region of Le Marche, also known as the Marches, on the Adriatic Sea. Andrea Ceci (right) runs the family business Vignamato with his brother Francesco (left) and sister Alessandra, but padre Maurizo is still the focal point.

Azienda Agricola Vignamato has been owned by the Ceci's for four generations. Umberto founded it, his son Amato brought the first wine to the local market and, under the leadership of Maurizo and his wife Serenella, it grew to become a model for the region. The young guard is now leading Vignamato to new challenges, lovingly helped by their parents. On the one hand, by tending and preserving the old vineyards. On the other by exploring new places, with the peculiarities of the different vineyards in their minds.
Work is done organically, because that's how you strengthen your territorio, your territory. As a result, the verdicchio grapes are more authentic and the very best expression of the terroir in Castelli di Jesi. And always there is that sea breeze. It puts a layer of salt on the vineyards, making the wines salty.
