The International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) estimates that global wine production is down again this year, falling to 231 million hl (-2%). OIV publishes annual wine figures. 2023 production also fell, but 2024 production would be the lowest in 63 years.
In the southern hemisphere, there was an overall decline of 2%. In Argentina (+23%!) and Australia (+5%), although production increased this year, this was offset by losses in, for example, Chile (-15%) and South Africa (-5%), as well as New Zealand and Brazil.
Data for the northern hemisphere are still estimates.
