Blending wines requires sharp senses from the winemaker, but what about blending cocktails? Competitions in this field are the order of the day. Add to this the new trend of blending with port wine, and you have the Graham's Blend Series Cocktail Competition. This year's national round took place in April, featuring Dutch bartenders and mixologists. Troy Rondon Guasque of PAAK Vinyl Bar in Nijmegen finished in first place. Troy: 'Globally, the most popular cocktail at the moment is the Pornstar Martini, so I created a port-based cocktail to match that flavour profile. I'm super proud to represent the Netherlands in the finals in Porto!' Try his cocktail for yourself and imagine yourself in the warm south with the recipe below.
