Typical Tuscany

Beautiful spot in Tuscany! It is Villa Cerni, an old monastery from the 11th century where the monks at the time looked after the surrounding vineyards.

The Cecchi family bought it in 1962, although they had been making wine in the Chianti Classico region for decades. The story of their winery began in 1893 with master taster Luigi Cecchi. He dealt in wine and ensured that Tuscany's high quality got attention, within and especially outside Italy. The Cecchis now own four wine estates in Tuscany. Together with la famiglia WINELIFE had a delicious tasting of Sangiovese, with Andrea Cecchi talking about the switch to organic farming. Two of the domains already have official certification, of which he is proud. You can just buy their entry-level wine at the supermarket: a hearty Chianti full of herbs, which makes good food.
