Missing inspiration to put some sweet on the table for the holidays? Eefje to the rescue! Because the baking queen shares her recipes for both the novice and advanced home baker.

'Will you help us take our baking skills to the next level?" we asked Eefje Friedhoff. The owner of Eefsfood did not say no to WINELIFE and by now the editorial office smells of fresh apple pie and melted chocolate. For those who don't know her yet: Eefje elevates pies and cakes to true art. After bakery school and internships at patisserie Jarreau in The Hague and Huize van Wely in Noordwijk, she started capturing her own creations on film.

Her website EEFSFOOD.NL will keep you busy for a while. Together with the Instagram account she started 10 years ago for fun (@eefsfood), which now has 120,000 followers, Eefsfood is now her full-time job. She has just released the book ZOETE ZOOI. with kitchen tricks and more than eighty baking recipes that will make you succeed too. Like her now famous butter cake, her signature caramel shortbread with pecan nuts, and a sticky toffee pudding that, with a scoop of ice cream, is also perfect for dessert. Eefje was also spotted with a wine glass in hand, in the Douro valley, by one of our wine journalists. At her book launch in October, we will put her through her paces:

A word about wine: you also have a thing for port?

'I love port! You might think I prefer Tawny, but I still prefer to pour a glass of Ruby. Also sweet, but a little less, and I like that better when I'm eating something with it anyway.'
