I too am celebrating a wine anniversary this year, I realised in the run-up to this hundredth WINELIFE. Ten years a vinologist. And even before I started my vinologist training at the Wine Academy, in 2015, this column came my way. Like a lottery ticket. The then editor-in-chief of WINELIFE literally and figuratively responded immediately to the open application in which I introduced myself as a theologian who knew a bit about wine. I had sent that email spontaneously after coming home late at night from the SDEN 3 (Wine License) exam. Done in a soulless little room with dark blue project carpet in the desolate surroundings of Sloterdijk station, but enthusiastic I was! I clearly remember how I rammed out that email, with tig ideas for articles.
