South Africa is a beautiful (wine) country. Janneke Rutten of Intense Wines therefore grows grapes there at her own Schoone Oordt Vineyards. This blend of chardonnay and viognier deservedly got a place in our tasting box. Because the grapes go together perfectly, the full-bodied and creamy chardonnay blending seamlessly with the aromatic and floral viognier. We taste peach, white flower, some fresh lychee and some of that tropical fruit, you know, one of those ripe pineapple and banana. A delicious, hearty aperitif wine but definitely try it with a piece of salmon from the barbecue.
