Jaume Serra Cava Brut, Macabeo, Parellada, Xarel-Lo, Spain

The Jaume Serra Cava Brut contains beautiful, sophisticated aromas of white fruit and citrus. On the fresh palate, you will find apple, pear and citrus combined with a firm but delicate bubble. The Jaume Serra Cava Brut is perfect as a festive aperitif, but also with smoked fish, oysters and even a bag of chips.

Jaume Serra was founded in 1943 by Don Jaume Serra Güell. Since 1984, the bodega has been located in the town of Vilanova i la Geltrú. This town is in the heart of the famous sparkling-cava region. In 1997, Jaume Serra was sold to Don José García Carrión. He added this winery to their portfolio Vinos de Familia Garcia Carrion. This is a number of wine companies with different Spanish appellations of origin, such as Jumilla, La Mancha, Rioja and Ribera del Duero.

Jaume Serra is known for making both still wines and cava. The still wines come from the 125 hectares of vineyards around the bodega itself. These are mainly planted with cabernet sauvignon, merlot, tempranillo and chardonnay. But it is the cava that Jaume Serra is especially big and famous for. Its immense cellars can hold as many as 60 million bottles of cava. This space is needed to facilitate the second fermentation in bottle and the minimum 12-month rest in bottle afterwards. The result is therefore quite something! Delectable cava produced from classic grapes of this region. A festive wine with the class of champagne and the friendliness of the Spanish sun.
