Come taste and experience at Taste of Zutphen

Taste and experience!

The taste festival takes place in the Walburgiskerk in Zutphen. On Saturday 25 March from 13:00 to 22:00 and on Sunday 26 March from 13:00 to 21:00. The Walburgiskerk will be transformed into a magical palace of taste and all the senses will be stimulated! Visitors walk past stallholders and can use coins to order something tasty to eat or drink at each restaurateur or flavour maker. These tokens are on sale at the entrance to the church.

Two-day taste festival

At various places in the church, atmospheric seating areas and cosy trendy bars have been set up. Enjoy delicious dishes at special restaurateurs such as The Rough Meat Company and ByChiel. Be surprised by the unique flavours of exclusive caterers such as De Ruif Catering & Events, the Hapjesmaacker, Jacqueline Arraf Kookt and the Fine Food Factory. There is something for everyone: fish, meat and vegetarian! Taste the tastiest wines from Wijnhandel Schaapveld, Neleman, Wijnbar Nic & ik, Paul Brasz Wijnen and Wijnhuis Cuvee. Many of them organically grown, so besides being delicious, they are also good for the world. Discover real Zutphen special beer at Chamaven. For the artisanal cup of coffee, of course, go to De Pelikaan. As a bon vivant and foodie, good food and good wine will make you happy here!

All senses are stimulated

During this two-day taste festival, visitors will also be surprised by special musical and theatrical performances. Live performances will take place throughout the day, with the Zutphen jazz trio Daybreak performing with Merel Hubatka and trio Sweet Silver from Warnsveld singing delicious jazzy tunes. In between, visitors will be surprised by some dazzling performances, such as aerial acrobatics by Les Hirondelles. Saturday evening will end with the soulful sounds of DJ Lungarno, so you can dance too! On Sunday evening, renowned jazz pianist Peter Beets will perform. In short: While visitors enjoy delicious bites and tasty drinks in atmospheric restaurant corners and bars, all the senses will be stimulated!

Walburgiskerk

It is also possible to visit, accompanied by a guide, the beautiful Walburgiskerk and its well-preserved medieval library: the Librije. As one of the oldest libraries in the Netherlands, built from 1561 to 1564, the Librije is among the most important cultural-historical monuments in the Netherlands and abroad. It is the only, original public chain library in the Netherlands, making it a truly unique monument worth visiting!

Equally practical

Ordering tickets? You still can! Visitors can spend two days tasting and enjoying the most beautiful and delicious things Zutphen has to offer. Parking is available (paid) on the square in front of the church ('s Gravenhof) or on the IJsselkade, but spaces there are limited. If you come by public transport, you can park at the station (large P+R) with paid parking. This car park is at walking distance from the centre of Zutphen and the Walburgiskerk. From the Walburgiskerk, VIP shuttles back to the station will be provided by Nissan Herwers. Totally lovely and healthy, come by bike, there will always be space!
