Cycle along with the Route de Vin & Velo d' Amsterdam

Fun to do as an epicurean and active bon vivant. Together with four wine-loving entrepreneurs from Amsterdam, Karien Olthof of Eat2Gather is organising a bike ride on Sunday 8 September along Amsterdam's canals and through raw, hip and rural Amsterdam Noord. You will cycle about 15 kilometres and pass Eat2Gather, urban winery Chateau Amsterdam, Landmarkt and wine bar Vindict. All businesses with a special take on wine: a cooking studio, a culinary fresh food market, a wine producer and a wine bar.

Preview

You will start in Eat2Gather's cooking studio, located in an extraordinary National Monument on the Egelantiersgracht in the Jordaan. Here, you'll look out over the city at the 8-metre bar, while a mimosa and a refined culinary dish are served. Then cycle through Amsterdam's picturesque canals to the ferry across the IJ to visit Chateau Amsterdam. At this urban winery, which WINELIFE also likes to visit, you will taste two types of wine and a small bite. The route then leads through rural and green Amsterdam Noord to the culinary fresh market Landmarkt in Schellingwoude. Here, a cheeseboard will be served with a glass of wine. The tour ends at Vindict, also no stranger to readers of WINELIFE, where you will have boeuf bourguignon and a glass of red wine.
